TOPIC-BASED VOCABULARY FOR ADVANCED LEARNERS

SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIALS FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS OF ENGLISH

This course offers supplementary materials for study and teaching of English, using the textbook of the same name. The book is based on materials that had been put together by teachers at the State Language School in Brno. The Vocabulary Lists have been prepared for the respective pages of the textbook (both editions).

Apart from this, the course also provides the student or the teacher with other materials to practise topic-based vocabulary (especially collocations). There is no unified pattern for the materials related to the individual topics. The aim was to offer a variety of ideas and resources to use in studying vocabulary and creating lexical exercises and tests (look in the Resources
section). For more links for studying English go to Electronic Tools or Nikki Fortova's Online Training (login as guest).

Activities to teach vocabulary can be found at onestopenglish. More resources can be found at ICT4ELT Portals. F
or an online English pronouncing dictionary look here and an interactive phonemic chart can be found here.
